This Friday, we feature the Tammy Lynn Center which has served children and adults with developmental disabilities since 1969. A new video premiered this past Sunday at the 30th Anniversary of the center’s annual Toast to the Triangle, telling the story of Durham and Betty Moore who helped co-found the center to help children like their son, Jimmy, who suffered from cystic fibrosis and other developmental disabilities. The video gave viewers an appreciation for the passion of Betty Moore to provide a place in Wake County for all children with disabilities.
Now more than 30 years later, the center offers a broad range of services, both day and residential, to approximately 400 families each year who have children and adults suffering from mild to severe disabilities.
Several APATT board members were able to attend A Toast to the Triangle as guests of KDI Capital Partners (thank you!) and witnessed how much the community supports this wonderful nonprofit. Many businesses sponsored tables and booths in addition to donating products and services for the silent auction; restaurants provided delicious food; beverage makers provided drinks; about 1000 people attended the event. The event raised over $150,000 this year.
If you missed this event, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution at tammylynncenter.org and definitely plan to attend this great event next year! #featurefriday #atoasttothetriangle #APATT
