For our #FeatureFriday today, we wanted to spotlight Boys and Girls Club! Boys and Girls club is a wonderful nonprofit that has so many awesome programs put in place to help children. There are 112 different clubs spread throughout North Carolina, and there are multiple here in the Triangle area! Their mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
They offer a variety of programs for children in the area in the summer, and in after-school programs. Programs like Healthy Places Active Spaces, Cooking Matters, and SMART Moves are just a few programs dealing with Healthy LIfestyles. They also have academic success programs like Project Learn, G.O.A.L., and Power Hour that promote education and youth development. These are just a few examples of the many programs in place for children in Wake County, and with all of these programs, there is always a need for a helping hand. If you want more info on what you can do to help Boys and Girls Clubs in the Triangle area, check out their website here! They have lots of volunteer opportunities, and events coming up like their Breakfast of Champions at the Raleigh Convention Center on October 31st!
