On Friday, A Place at the Table popped up at bandwidth, an innovative communications company located on NC State’s Centennial Campus. This was a different kind of pop-up for us but hopefully a model for future pop-ups.
Bandwidth and their subsidiary company, Republic Wireless, encourage community involvement and volunteering. An employee nominated us to be profiled as a volunteer opportunity. As a result, bandwidth brought us in to plan a pop-up to make employees aware of A Place at the Table. Working with Grant and Jennifer from their side, and Cas and Rock from Neighbor Cater, we planned a lunch during the workday at their office. Neighbor Cater provided a delicious and healthy lunch, and A Place at the Table set up a community feel with large tables and conversation topics. In addition to thanking bandwidth/Republic Wireless, we’d also like to thank employees Grant and Jennifer for their involvement.
ED Maggie and board members Erika and Allison had a delicious healthy meal with their employees, met new people in our community and shared the concept of a pay-what-you-can cafe. We found many people who seemed interested in dining and volunteering when we are open. @bandwidth @republicwireless
